Flights to Taghazout: Which Airport and How to Find Cheap Fares

There’s no airport in Taghazout itself, so the first decision is which airport to fly into. Two options serve the area: Agadir Al Massira (AGA) is closer and more convenient, while Marrakech Menara (RAK) often has cheaper fares and more route options. The right choice depends on your priorities.

Option 1: Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA)

Agadir airport is the obvious choice for Taghazout — it’s approximately 30 kilometres from the village, which translates to around 30–40 minutes by road. A direct transfer, fixed-price taxi, or hired car gets you there without a lengthy overland journey.

The downside: Agadir has fewer direct international routes than Marrakech, and fares can be higher as a result. Route options have improved in recent years with low-cost carriers expanding into Morocco, but Agadir still lags behind Marrakech for frequency and competition.

Marrakech is around 240 kilometres from Taghazout — approximately 2.5 hours by road, depending on traffic and the route taken. That’s a significant extra journey after a flight, but the trade-off is often worth it on price.

Marrakech is one of the best-connected cities in North Africa. It has year-round routes from across Europe, more carrier competition, and generally lower fares. If you can find a significantly cheaper fare into Marrakech and either hire a car or arrange a transfer, the total cost (flight plus ground transport) may still come out lower than flying directly into Agadir.
